The merries of Merrylands.
I was informed the other night that supposedly Merrylands has the highest rate of crime in Sydney. We don’t really know what kind of a statistic that is supposed to be, I mean, what kind of crime? But anyway, it’s some kind of flaky statistic. Apparently car jackings and stuff. Good news is we live on the ’safe’ side. I haven’t yet felt unsafe in Merrylands. And I live so close to the old closed down kidseum. Oh that was cool.

Hey Jem, we must be neighbours! Im at the apartments at the brickworks across Holroyd Gardens…I ride my motorbike all around Merrylands and so far havent seen any of the crime people are talking about! Ok well on Sunday there was a delivery van on fire in the carpark near the post office…but was that a crime? I dont know…do delivery vans occassionaly self combust on quiet sunday afternoons?

oh oh kidseum closed down? that’s something i was looking forward to when i came to visit you…

I think it may have been closed down awhile. It’s very sad. But it’s still there, like I can see the memory of my childhood happiness.
And as for Valiant, I don’t know Merrylands too well yet. Have only just moved here, so I don’t know where Holroyd Gardens are. I’ll keep my eye out. Is it west or east merrylands? I think Sunday arvo self combustion is a dandy idea. However, me either have I seen much crime.

Hi Jem, well the Kidseum on the top corner of the park called Walpole Reserve…so if you stand on that corner and look down Walpole road you will see a roundabout and entrance to a residential complex… been there for a year now and still exploring the environs…but I have already lost count of the coffees at heart to heart! So WHO told you it was a high crime area?

One of the people I live with said they heard this statistic. But they thought perhaps it had been “falsified”. Right. Walpole Reserve, I think I know that one. I drive walpole most days. Will keep an eye out for that resdential complex.
Keep clear of all that crime now!

Merrylands is certainly not the worst place, neither is it paradise..so yeah
Ok Jem pls wave to me (metaphorically)when you next drive past ok?
Gracias Conchita:)

Jem have you visited Autlán de Navarro, Jalisco in Mexico? That’s where Carlos Santana was born. I’m going to his show at Homebush this evening. Cant wait! Been listening to his music since way back when!:)
