Cuba.
Tomorrow, we’re going to Cuba. We’ll be there for 11 days. I don’t think we’ll use the internet because it will be expensive. I don’t really know though because I haven’t really read anything about Cuba yet. Luckily I have got some money. We have to change Australian dollars to Mexican pesos, to euros, to Cuban pesos. That’s a bit of ridiculous.
Tonight is New Years. Who knows how the Mexicans will do this. But it’s exciting. We tried to go ice-skating in the Zocalo this morning….but the queue was so long we gave up.
So anyway, lack of contact the next week just means we’re in Cuba.

I mostly spent US dollars in Cuba. You get change in pesos anyway. It feels a bit touristy, but people prefer dollars and it’s probably better for the country.

They definitely don’t use dollars anymore. That has most definitely changed. But we managed to change Mexican Pesos which was great. A nice friend of my teacher rang the place and confirmed for me. Some people can be so lovely.
