Chile. The Land of the missing ‘S’.
Well, what much has past this last week. Primarily that been my arrival in Chile. The land of the cold winter. Coldness that can be bared though.
I arrived last Sunday or perhaps early Monday morning after flying and waiting in airports for far too long. And finally arrived at the plush little hotel where I found both Jo and John. Rather awake for 2am in the morning. So weird to see such familiar faces after not seeing those 2 for so long. Most delightful as well.
Santiago first struck me to be rich, clean, modern. Actually rather like Canada. Rather a moment of culture shock to arrive somewhere so modern. Cool city. Although less character than places like Valparaiso.
Chileans speak funny. I’m getting used to it…slowly. They have completely different words its like talking another languages. And someone somewhere stole the ’s’ from their language. It’s kind of discouraging coming from somewhere where you understand almost everything to being utterly confused. But I’m doing a bit better now.
