Differences.
People look really different in Guatemala than Mexico. Heaps more than I imagined.
Guatemala is a lot poorer.
People are really friendly.
The water is more enticing.

Did you ever notice how the people in Mexico will not make way when you are walking and the people of Guatemala go way out of their way not to get in your way when you are walking… man, that was a long frase.

Thats funny. I´ve found the opposite. In Mexico, it took awhile, but once I learnt the pecking order customs of footpath walking, I´ve had no problems. Girls walk next to the wall, and then you give way to those older than you.
I´ve tried the same rules in Guatemala and it doesn´t seem to work. I´ve even found myself thinking people are rude…not obeying Mexican culture. Maybe I´ve become more accustomed than I realised.
